Commercial Growth
2024 saw Nexton attract a range of top-tier retailers and businesses, including:

  • Page’s Okra Grill, a beloved Lowcountry restaurant, opened its doors in January, bringing Southern-style dishes to the community.

  • Harris Teeter grocery store made its debut, serving as a convenient shopping option for residents.

  • Marketplace at Nexton broke ground in July, with plans for six one-story buildings totaling 35,000 square feet of retail space. Confirmed tenants include Dunkin’ and Club Pilates.

  • The Goddard School and HYLO Fitness both celebrated grand openings, adding more services to the area.

  • Dayfield Park opened with tenants like Edward Jones and Lowcountry Oncology, with more to come in 2025, including Summit Coffee, Lifestance Health, Arbogen, Egyptian Nails, and East Cooper Health Group.

  • One Nexton, a Publix-anchored commercial center, began leasing its first phase. Retailers like Catrina’s Cantina, Jersey Mike’s Subs, and Swamp Fox Agency are among the partners. Additionally, The Camelia Apartments opened, offering 350 luxury apartments.

  • Downtown Nexton saw the opening of phase one of the Lofts Downtown Nexton apartments and the Atelier office campus. Woodfield Development also unveiled two multifamily projects: The Ames and The Radler, which together add over 600 class-A apartments.

  • Rotolo’s Craft and Crust is just opening! Brighton Park is excited to have a pizza and beer place so close!


Residential Development
Nexton continued to offer diverse housing options to cater to a variety of lifestyles, including:

  • 534 homes sold across four neighborhoods: Del Webb Charleston, North Creek Village, Brighton Park Village, and Midtown.

  • With a total of 3,400 homes sold, Nexton’s residential growth remains strong.

  • Brookfield Residential debuted their model townhome and first homes in May.

  • DRB Homes joined the builder program, introducing three new floor plans: The Beaufain, Tradd, and Gibbes.

  • New Leaf Builders launched their Piedmont Home Collection in Midtown, offering high-quality boutique homes.

  • Stanley Martin Homes added new townhomes and condos to Brighton Park Village, including The Jenkins, a spacious three-story townhome with modern amenities.

  • Saussy Burbank announced the Waterway Home Collection, with four new floor plans coming soon to Midtown.

Civic Development

  • Nexton Middle School is under construction with plans to open in fall 2026.

  • One Nexton will see the opening of Publix in January, with other retail tenants to follow in the months after. Phase two of development, in partnership with SL Shaw, will begin construction in 2025.

  • Marketplace at Nexton is nearing completion, and tenants will start opening their doors.

  • GoDog, a premium pet care provider with daycare, grooming, boarding, and a dog park/bar, is also expected to open soon.
